Spectacular Summer (Updated Aug. 11)

In the structural gardens around the visitor centers guests can find an abundance of blossoming plants including orange-plumed celosia, coneflowers, zinnia and Spotted Joe-Pye Weed. In the Speigel Garden in front of the Snyder Building, Hardy Grape Leaf Anemones are in their early bloom stages. The Perennial Garden is home to hibiscus, dahlias and waterlilies. The Sensory Garden features zonal geraniums, Russian, Clary, Texas and Hybrid Sage, Ornamental Millet, Snapdragons and Egyptian Star Cluster. The annual beds are alive with Canna Lilies, yellow Lantana, Creeping Zinnia, Flowering Tobacco and Cigar Flower. Out around the Three Mile Drive, the Hydrangea trials have burst into a flush pink and white.
