The Tashjian Bee and Pollinator Discovery Center serves as a hub for community outreach and education that is grounded in the world-renowned bee research of University of Minnesota Scientist Marla Spivak, Ph.D. Displays use macro-photography of flowers and pollinators, and exhibits offer insights into honey bees, wild bees, Monarch butterflies and other pollinators.
NOTE that there is a water fountain and restrooms in this building, but neither food nor drink are available for purchase on the premises.

SCHOOL BUS ACCESS DO NOT enter via the main Arboretum entry and gatehouse. Follow the maps below to access the BUS ENTRANCE to the Bee Center via 82nd Street.

• Exit the Arboretum via the gatehouse on Arboretum Dr. • Turn right on Highway 5/Arboretum Blvd and go east to County Road 41/Hazeltine Blvd (0.6 miles). • Turn right, at the light, on County Road 41/Hazeltine Blvd and go south to West 82nd St (0.5 miles). • Turn right, at the light, on West 82nd St and follow the street west to the gated Arboretum entrance (0.3 miles). West 82nd St makes a sharp left turn just before this entrance. • Turn right and drive up to the gate. The Bee Center and Red Barn is in front of you and a callbox is on your right. • To open the gate, press the center button on the callbox. • If the Bee Center attendant does not open the gate, enter 24 on the callbox keypad. • When the gate opens, drive ahead to the Bee Center parking lot.

FREE Parking
DO NOT park in the main Arboretum Visitor Center lots. The Bee Center is 2 miles away from the main lots. Follow the directions above to the Bee Center. The Bee Center has an ample free parking area.
