Summer Solstice (Updated June 21) - Summer officially arrived on Monday, June 20, bringing with it a full moon and Minnesota's longest day of the year. Roses continue their showy display in the Wilson Rose Garden and the Nelson Shrub Rose Garden. Small Yellow Lady Slippers and Showy Lady Slippers (Minnesota's state flower) can be found for a few more weeks in the Dayton Wildflower Garden and along the Wurtele Bog Walk. Daylilies just started to be seen this week, providing clumps of gold and orange color everywhere. Other seasonal favorites include several varieties of Bellflowers, Cranesbill and Yarrow.
