2014 Guided Adventures for Groups

Guided Adventures are perfect for daycare, scout, summer school or neighborhood groups wanting extra hands-on fun during an Arboretum visit. Each Guided Adventure lasts one hour. For groups of 12-50 children ages 3-12.

In celebration of the 2014 Butterfly Exhibit at the Arboretum's Meyers-Deats Conservatory, bring your youth group to the Arboretum for a brand new one-hour Guided Adventure that enters the fascinating world of butterflies! Adventurers will dissect flowers and examine them using microscopes, explore the Children's Garden to find butterflies in nature, learn about metamorphosis and butterflies' wacky senses, and plant butterfly and caterpillar friendly plants to take home. $5 per student member/$5 per student non-member,includes Arboretum admission and all supplies. Limit 12-50 youth

Back by popular demand! The From Earth to Oven Guided Adventure uses the story of "The Little Red Hen" to trace bread's path from seed to table and includes baking a breadstick for each adventurer to eat! Young adventurers will learn about how food comes from plants by enjoying an interactive puppet show, planting wheat to take home, grinding flour, making their own breadstick, and discovering wheat growing in the children's garden.
