Maple Trail and Sugarhouse Tours, Frog Hollow
Get right to the source. Check out the action on the Maple Trail! The trees know it - how about you? Sync up with the changing season, bring friends and family into the maples for a sweet goodbye to winter. Each action stop on the Maple Trail offers a different real-time look at the process - and takes you closer to your reward. Is pressure rising inside trees? Check the gauge. Turn the drill to tap a tree. Sip a toast to spring - fresh maple sap! Is it flowing today? Watch tubes and bags. Confront the evaporation challenge - and then finally, you earned it...a delicious taste of maple sugar, at the cabin in the heart of the sugarbush.
Don't forget to visit the Sugarhouse and the Maple Room too. See how the evaporator works, check out maple traditions across cultures, and make your own souvenir "spile" from a twig to spill the sap.
Thanks to the generosity of Sturdiwheat, a Minnesota-based company, for donating the pancake mix for the Saturday and Sunday brunch.
